Now that our community has a new outdoor fitness park, we want to make sure that you know how to use it!

Join us for an intro class, a one-hour circuit training workout, or an 8-week series to get into a regular active routine. 

All FitLot classes are 100% free to attend and led by certified fitness professionals.

Fitness Circuit at Prince Albert Park

A circuit of 5 fitness machines are stationed along the walk/jog path that circles the park. There are stickers on each machine explaining their proper use. The descriptions below are taken directly from triactiveamerica.com

 

Leg Press
  • Uses your own body weight to strengthen your thighs, calves, and gluteal muscles. 
  • Function: Strength
  • Muscles Activated: Gluteals/Rear, Quadriceps/Front of Thighs, Calves
  • Exercises to Perform: Seated Leg Press
  • Recommended Users: Adults 

Each side has a different length seat bar to accommodate different heights. 

 

Back Extension

  • This exercise promotes lower back strength, glutes, and hamstrings. It develops flexibility and helps with posture and alignment.
  • Function: Strength
  • Muscles Activated: Lower back, Chest, Shoulders, Triceps (Push-ups) 
  • Exercises to Perform: Back Extensions, also Push-ups, Dips

Pull-Up & Dip Station

  • Use this multi-purpose product to perform pull-ups, dips, and leg lifts. It is excellent for improving strength and flexibility. 
  • Function: Strength
  • Muscles Activated: Triceps, Biceps, Shoulders, Chest, Core 
  • Exercises to Perform: Pull-ups, Dips, Knee Lifts 
  • Recommended Users: Adults
 

Sit-Up Bench

  • This sturdy bench provides a multi-use platform for performing sit-ups, leg lifts, push-ups, and even assisted dips. It is also a useful product for other purposes, such as stretching. 
  • Function: Strength 
  • Muscles Activated: Abdominals, Chest Shoulders Triceps (Push-ups and Dips)
  • Exercises to Perform: Sit-ups, Knee Lifts, Push-ups, Dips, Jumping
  • Recommended Users: Adults, Kids and Seniors


   

Push Up Bar

  • A fitness trail or challenge course favorite! Appropriate for strengthening hand grip, triceps and chest. 
  • Function: Strength
  • Muscles Activated: Chest, Triceps, Shoulders, Core, also Lower Body
  • Exercises to Perform: Push-ups, also Jumping
  • Recommended Users: Kids and Adults
